Do Europeans Value Liberty More than Americans?

By Laurie West

Or, perhaps are they not exposed to the same extent of media censorship as Americans rendering Americans more complacent to government overreach into our lives?

Welcome aboard the runaway train to global totalitarianism. Before you wag your finger at the “conspiracy theorist” now tapping on my keyboard, please first have a look at this European Union Document, last updated in Q3 2019:

Roadmap for the Implementation of Actions By the European Commission Based on the Commission Communication and the Council Recommendation on Strengthening Cooperation against Vaccine Preventable Diseases

A lot about the world has changed since this document’s last update. Prior to this year’s COVID-19 ordeal, the thought of having to provide one’s own vaccination status as a condition of free travel was more unthinkable than it is now. Fewer people pre-COVID would have tolerated such a curtailment of freedom to board a plane without displaying one’s vaccination status. Conveniently for these policy schemers, pandemic fear has ripened many among the world population to accept the once unacceptable. How convenient for the authors of the Roadmap that we now are tracking well along the authors’ timeline for the EU to achieve its goal to roll out a common European vaccination card/passport for EU citizens.

Although we are not yet required to display our vaccination record to board public transportation, we are taking incremental steps in that direction. Some people speculate that we are inching toward the Social Credit System used by the Chinese Communist Party.

Island-dwellers in some parts of the globe already are compelled to adapt to new travel requirements. Hawai`i’s Safe Travels program and app was launched in mid-October 2020. Ireland and Puerto Rico have uncannily similar iterations of the same app marketing video campaign animations. My search for the links to those videos led to two more videos–pre-dating COVID-19–targeting Australians and Indonesians. Could the cartoon animations perhaps be a nonthreatening veil, to distract users from the traumatic memory of draconian World War 2/Cold War era procedures, when people had to produce papers for inspection by government authorities as a condition of travel or entry?

Those memories apparently have been burnished deeper into the European consciousness than American, as Europeans over the past several weeks have been in massive revolt across the EU and UK in opposition to lockdowns. Demonstrations are not limited to Europe, however; Hong Kong, Canada, Australia and California also have been hotbeds of discontent with government overreach.

Hopefully, the world’s people currently on the sidelines will soon be roused from their slumber to recognize the grave threats to individual liberty posed by The Great Reset, as envisioned by World Economic Forum Chairman Klaus Schwab. But will they wake up and resist in time, before freedom is irretrievably revoked by tyrannical, power-seeking authoritarians operating under the guise of shepherds of public safety?
